5th- Veganism

How difficult is it to be a vegan? For this challenge, try out a healthy, vegan diet for THREE full days, based on veggies, fruit, whole grains, and legumes. Reflect on your experience, noting what you ate each day, the pitfalls you faced, how you felt, and where you got your nutrients from.

Note: If you did this challenge for the 3rd or 4th six weeks, YOU MAY repeat it for the 5th six weeks but you will increase your challenge to either FIVE or TEN full days! (SEE Ms. B for receipes and nutritional help.) :)

5th- Gardening with Nature; 3/7

Roger Sanderson, Director of Horticulture at Texas Discovery Gardens, will be our guest for FCNP's Guest Lecture Series this Saturday, March 7th at 10 am at the Biodiversity Education Center, 367 S. Freeport Parkway, Coppell.

In time for the approach of Spring, Roger's presentation will be on "Gardening with Nature." He will share information with those attending on nature friendly planting that can be done in our yards so as to provide habitat for wildlife while making our yards more appealing to wildlife.

An anchor/journalist from SMU television will be filming the class for a future presentation about nature education at Southern Methodist University.

Admission is free. Students and adults throughout North Texas are welcome. North Texas Master Naturalists will also receive advance training credits for this 2-hour seminar.
